It's fine with Firefox/Dark Reader.

Short version: magic means serendipity, finding the obscure thing you were looking for, rather than an answer soup. The author argues for "adding more intentional personalization" in AI tools, though that is left an open proposition, IMO having big technical and philosophical problems, i.e. how much do you want some LLM to know about you?

I purposely use anonymous search with zero profiles (DDG) and don't get personalized search results. I ive with that, rather than letting someone else know all my personal info. (voluntarily, anyway)

You still have the option to use search engines which prioritize indie authors if you so wish.

However, I think getting an answer to any question in seconds is more magical than the semi-human connection you get reading an informational content piece written by an identifiable author.

If you are going to use gray fonts, I won't even try to read it. Using gray fonts is thoughtless leaving me no reason to read your work.

You could just use your browser reader mode /shrug.
